HS Marching Bands Successful in 1st Weekend of Fall Competition

On Saturday, September 25, 2021, Denton ISD's high school marching bands participated in their first marching band contests of the season and had a very successful start.

The Denton HS Band and Booster Club hosted the annual Golden Triangle Classic Marching Band Contest at C.H. Collins Stadium. The Guyer HS and Ryan HS Bands both performed at the Golden Triangle Classic among 17 bands from across the state of Texas. Both bands finished in the top 10 with Guyer placing 5th and Ryan placing 7th. Ryan also placed 1st in class in the prelims.

The Braswell HS Band performed in the USBands regional contest at Saginaw HS. The Braswell Band placed 1st in class and won the prelims class caption awards for Best Music, Best Visual, Best Overall Effect, Best Percussion, and Best Guard. They ended the day placing 2nd overall in the finals compeition. 

Denton ISD is extremely proud of its bands. We wish our HS bands all the best as they continue their contest season on Saturday, October 2.
