All 4 HS Marching Bands Awarded as Finalists at Oct 2 Contests
On October 2, 2021, all four high school marching bands from Denton ISD performed in competition and all four bands won awards and placed in the finals at their respective contests.
The Braswell Band traveled to Midland, TX to perform in the Bands of America West Texas Regional Contest. This was the B-Well Band's first performance in a BOA contest. Their outstanding prelims performance advanced them to the finals where they ended up ranking 7th overall in the competition. Congratulations to directors, Aaron Snipes, Taylor Sitzman, Alan Miller, Emily Strother, and the Braswell Band! They will compete in the BOA North Texas Regional on Oct 9 at Pennington Field in Bedford.
The Denton HS Band traveled to Princeton, TX to peform in the Sounds of Fall Marching Contest. The Pride of Bronco Country placed 3rd in class and 9th overall in prelims, qualifiying them for the finals. In finals, DHS improved their scores, rising to finish 7th place overall. Congratulations to directors, Brian Wilson, Jesse Woolery, Phillip Elder, Devin Guillote, and the DHS Band! They will compete in the Don Hanna Memorial Band Contest on Oct 9 hosted by Ryan HS Band at Denton ISD's CH Collins Stadium.
The Guyer and Ryan HS Bands performed in the Director's Choice Marching Band Championship at CH Collins Stadium. In prelims, the Guyer Band won Best in Class Overall, Best in Class Music, and Best in Class Visual. The Ryan Band won Best in Class and Best in Class Music. Both bands gave outstanding performances again in finals with Guyer finishing 5th overall and Ryan finishing 7th overall. Congratulations to Nathan Taylor, Mikaela Pyle, Alyson Downs, and the Guyer Band! Congratulations to Mary Brown, Jarrod Beard, Frank Chapple, Devin Guillote, Keli Jones, and the Ryan Band! The Guyer Band will compete in the Don Hanna Memorial Band Contest on Oct 9 hosted by Ryan HS Band at Denton ISD's CH Collins Stadium.
