Denton High School and Ryan High School Mariachi competed in the UIL North Texas Region Mariachi Contest at Northside High School in Fort Worth on Saturday, January 27, 2024. This is the first time these groups have competed in the UIL Mariachi Contest under the guidance of Denton ISD Mariachi Instructor, Jason Molina. 

Our Denton ISD Mariachi programs feature outstanding vocalists and instrumentalists on violin, trumpet, guitarron, guitar, and vihuela. Denton High School's Mariachi Los Broncos did an outstanding job and received 2nd Division ratings. Ryan High School's Mariachi Los Raiders received straight 1st Division ratings for their performance and will advance to the state level of competition. 

Many thanks and congratulations to Jason Molina-Mariachi Instructor, Jeremy Atkins-RHS Orchestra Director, Sandy Cubero-DHS Orchestra Director, and Michael Jones-DHS Orchestra Director for their achievements at Denton ISD's first-ever performances in the Mariachi UIL Contest. 

Ryan High School will compete at the 2024 UIL State Mariachi Festival on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Seguin HS Performing Arts Center in Seguin, TX.
