    DESCRIPTION OF OUR SCHOOL

Named in honor of Mildred Hawk, local philanthropist and supporter of education, Denton's newest elementary school opened in the fall of 2005. The campus is home to 59 staff members that teach and support the 742 students in grades K-5. The physical layout of the building is designed to accommodate the academic program and community events. A central hallway links the 39 classrooms to the administrative offices, Library Media Center, indoor gymnasium and cafetorium. Modern networking offers access to worldwide learning via the Internet throughout the building. Hawk Elementary also has two computer labs which are used by students to access the Internet, learn basic computer skills, and master programs that reinforce the curriculum.
