Dobrý den! (Good day! in Czech)

Working and learning in a state of the art facility is very exciting, but it is the students, families, and staff who make a school a home. Creating a warm and welcoming environment in the Learning Hub is always my number one priority. Rodriguez is my home away from home, and I love working with our students and staff each and every day.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Reading from West Texas A&M University in 1997 and my Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas in 2009. I spent seven years teaching in the classroom and ten years working as a teacher-librarian at L.A. Nelson Elementary School in in Denton. In 2017 I opened the Rodriguez Middle School Learning Hub, and I am excited to begin my third year as a middle school teacher-librarian.

I enjoy reading, hiking, and making jewelry. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and my favorite quote by Professor Dumbledore is, "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
