Welcome to Ryan High School

Opened in 1991 and established as its own campus in 1995, Ryan High School is named for Billy Ryan, a former teacher, coach and administrator for Denton ISD. The school originally opened in 1991 as Denton High School – Ryan Campus, while Denton High underwent extensive renovations. In 1995, Ryan High School became Denton ISD’s second comprehensive high school, and it graduated the first class of Raiders in 1996. 

Ryan prides itself on being “The Home of Champions,” having claimed numerous state championships and recognitions in academics, athletics and fine arts. The campus is known for its tremendous school pride, with all of its students, faculty, staff, alumni and fans belonging to “Raider Nation.”

When it comes to athletics, few high schools in the state can match Ryan’s all-around credentials. Raider athletic teams have claimed three football state championships, a boys basketball state championship, and state final or semifinal appearances in baseball, girls and boys soccer, softball, swimming, and track and field.

Mission Statement
Ryan High School will provide its diverse student population with a knowledge base that will make them productive citizens in the community. The entire school, faculty, and staff will work together to produce individuals who are aware, concerned, knowledgeable, and responsible. Ryan High will foster citizenship, promote literacy, and cultivate personal fulfillment in its student body in a safe and healthy school climate.

Vision Statement
The vision of Ryan High School is to produce productive citizens in the community. We pledge to prepare our students as thoroughly as possible for the needs of today and tomorrow. We will prepare them to be communicators, problem solvers, and contributors in the community after high school. Upon graduation, Ryan students will be prepared to take on their next step in life, regardless of whether they choose college, the work force, or the military.
