The graduation ceremonies for Braswell, Denton, Guyer and Ryan High Schools will be held on Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25 at the UNT Coliseum. The Fred Moore High School graduation will be held the afternoon of Tuesday, May 22 at the UNT Gateway Center.
Campus administrators from Braswell, Denton, Guyer and Ryan high schools have announced the top graduates for the Class of 2018, who will be recognized alongside their classmates during graduation ceremonies on Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25.
Mrs. Emily McLarty, principal of Adkins Elementary, has been named the new principal of Borman Elementary. Mrs. McLarty brings eight years of experience as an elementary principal – all within Denton ISD – to her new position.
Fred Moore High School students Paige Garrison and Sarah Gonzales have been awarded scholarships by the Denton Morning Rotary Club to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA). The program will be held at Texas Woman’s University June 14 – 17, 2018.
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, Fred Moore science teacher Countressa Ware-Jones received the Rotary Vocational Service Excellence Award.
The Denton ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to call a $750.5 million bond election to be held on May 5, 2018. The bond addresses student enrollment growth, renovations to facilities, equity, infrastructure, security systems, career & technical education and extracurricular activities.
