• Mr. DolkosDavid Dolkos is in his 10th year as a band director, and first as Director of Bands at Harpool Middle School.  He is a graduate from the Texas A&M University - Commerce.  While in Commerce, Mr. Dolkos was active in several ensembles, including the Pride Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Trombone Choir.  Mr. Dolkos is an alumni of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia - Pi Psi chapter.
     
    As a band directors son, Mr. Dolkos has been surrounded by the band world since he was born. His father, Joe, is his biggest mentor who has guided his growth as a young band director. Mr. Dolkos' other mentors include Cindy Bulloch, Charles Nail, and Darlene Janeski. Before Harpool, Mr. Dolkos served as Associate Band Director at Nimitz Junior High in Odessa, TX and as Assistant Band Director at Springtown Middle School where he taught students grades 6-12 on a daily basis. His professional accomplishments include exclusive Superior ratings at all UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluations, Best in Class Ensembles at multiple festivals, and a 2nd place finish in the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series competition. Mr. Dolkos is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Association of Texas Small School Bands.

    When not in the band hall, Mr. Dolkos likes to spend his time with his wife JenAnne, and children Lizzie and Elliot. Together they like to play games, go on hikes, and workout together in the garage. He is an avid audiobook listener, and a dedicated Lord of the Rings nerd.

    Ms. Stan Emily Staniszewski is beginning her eighth year of teaching at Harpool Middle School as the Associate Band Director. She graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. While at LSU, Ms. Staniszewski was an active four-year member of the Tiger Marching Band, serving as section leader for two years, and receiving the Outstanding New Member award her freshman year. She also participated in many other ensembles within the School of Music, including Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and chamber groups. Ms. Staniszewski was a member of the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps in 2015.

    Born and raised in Denton, Ms. Staniszewski attended Denton public schools. She comes from a family of educators and has been immersed in the band world since she was born. She is very excited to continue her teaching career and make music with young people!
