Mr. StoneBryan Stone is in his 14th year as Band Director at Harpool Middle School, his 16th year in Denton ISD. He is a cum laude graduate from the University of North Texas and also holds a Masters of Education degree from Texas Woman’s University. While at North Texas, Mr. Stone was active in several ensembles including the Green Brigade Marching Band, where he served as Drum Major for two years. Mr. Stone is the founding president of UNT's chapter of National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Mr. Stone also performed as a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum Corps.A native of Texas, Mr. Stone is active as an adjudicator throughout the state and the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex. He has taught Drum Major camps throughout Texas and also served as an assistant director at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, TX and Crownover Middle School in Denton ISD. At Harpool, Mr. Stone has always received Superior rankings at the Texas UIL Concert and Sight-Reading contest as well as awards at multiple other festivals. In 2015, the Harpool Middle School Symphonic Band was 1 of 5 middle school bands in the country invited to the Music for All National Concert Band Festival. Mr. Stone is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.
Mr. Stone's professional and personal mentors include his mother and father, Steve Smith, Nicholas Williams, Dennis Fisher, Rob Toups, Amanda Drinkwater, Christine Cumberledge, and Richard Stephens. Mr. Stone and his wife, Billie, a librarian at Grapevine Faith Academy reside in Denton with their thirteen year old daughter, Audrey, and 10 year old son, Carson.
940-369-1782Ms. StaniszewskiEmily Staniszewski is beginning her fourth year of teaching at Harpool Middle School as the Associate Band Director. She graduated cum laude from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. While at LSU, Ms. Staniszewski was an active four-year member of the Tiger Marching Band, serving as section leader for two years, and receiving the Outstanding New Member award her freshman year. She also participated in many other ensembles within the School of Music, including Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and chamber groups. Ms. Staniszewski was a member of the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps in 2015.
Born and raised in Denton, Ms. Staniszewski attended Denton public schools. She comes from a family of educators and has been immersed in the band world since she was born. She is very excited to begin her teaching career and make music with young people!
