• Attendance Contracts and the Truancy Prevention Class (or en español)

Attendance Contracts and the Truancy Prevention Class are the combined second truancy prevention step outlined by HB 2398. This prevention measure is implemented when the student has accumulated six unexcused/unverified or LOSIT absences within a six-month period. At this stage, students are conferenced with about their attendance, placed on an Attendance Contract, and both student and parent are assigned to a Truancy Prevention Class. Parents/guardians will receive a copy of the Student Attendance Contract and the assigned Truancy Prevention Class notification in the mail.
