EXPO Web Site!
EXPO is the district’s program for those students who excel consistently or who show the potential to excel in general intellectual ability, specific subject matter aptitude, and creative and productive thinking. These students require educational experiences beyond those normally provided by the regular school program. Students who participate in the EXPO program are identified through the use of multiple criteria as specified by the Denton Independent School District. The district recognizes that students identified as gifted and talented can come from all races, socioeconomic groups, geographical locales, and environment.

EXPO Classes
Identified sixth, seventh, and eighth grade EXPO students will meet in a daily EXPO/ELAR class [English Language Arts Reading]. The Denton ISD Gifted and Talented Curriculum Scope and Sequence will be followed, as will the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for ELAR. Additionally, the EXPO Specialist will focus on creative and critical thinking skills as well as research assignments leading to advanced products. Enhanced classes in the four academic areas are also available for these students.
