About Hodge Elementary
Hodge Elementary was built in 1987 and received a building addition in 2009. The school is named for Eva Swan Hodge, a former Denton ISD teacher who was beloved by students, families and the community.
Hodge Elementary is the northernmost elementary school within the city of Denton and, because of its location, continues to attract families in established and new developments. The school is known for building close relationships with its families as well as helping students grow and achieve at the highest levels.
The staff at Hodge prides itself on meeting students’ educational needs through everything from traditional after-school tutoring sessions to creating virtual book clubs to increase literacy. Hodge has even taken student nutrition to new levels with the Healthy Family Challenge, which encouraged families to eat more nutritious meals and exercise in an effort to better student moods and energy levels throughout the day.
Hodge students have a number of opportunities to showcase their talents as well through participation in numerous academic and extracurricular clubs, choir and orchestra. Families aren’t left out of the fun either, with numerous opportunities to volunteer or take part in after school “fun” nights that promote learning and bonding.
