Welcome to Newton Rayzor Elementary

Newton Rayzor is an International Baccalaureate World School, meaning it operates using a highly acclaimed curriculum that encourages and influences students to approach education through a global scope, and follows the IB structure indicated through the Early Years Programme. Students at the school cover the core academic fundamentals found in elementary education, yet also broaden their experiences by learning about various cultures and countries.

The school features various activities that help students become well-rounded learners and take part in numerous experiences, helping spread the school’s mission of “changing the world by learning from each other” every day.

  • Denton High hosting Orchestra String Fling on April 7

    Denton High School will host its annual Orchestra String Fling at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, giving attendees a glimpse at about a dozen award-winning student orchestra groups. The event showcases orchestras for Denton High and its feeder elementary and middle schools.

  • Two Denton ISD principals honored by Discovery Education

    Discovery Education honored two Denton ISD elementary principals for their outstanding work. Adkins Elementary’s Emily McLarty and Newton Rayzor Elementary’s Dr. Happy Carrico were named to Discovery’s 2014 Great Principals list on Nov. 2, a list that included just 73 campus leaders from across the nation.

  • Newton Rayzor teacher awarded $3,000 literacy grant

    Newton Rayzor Elementary was recently awarded a $3,000 grant from the Dollar General Literary Foundation, which the school will spend on technology to aid in reading. Dina Wuenschel, an interventionist teacher for bilingual reading and math, applied for the grant to help her bilingual students and those learning English.

  • Braswell High School: Construction on Denton ISD's fourth comprehensive high school is currently underway in the eastern portion of the district. Dr. Ray Braswell High School will be located on the southeast corner of Navo Road and U.S. Highway 380 and is scheduled to open in time for the 2016-17 school year.
