My name is Misti Price, and I'm the Impact Counselor at Harpool Middle School. This is my 18th year in education! I began my career as a middle school teacher and taught for 10 years in various roles that included: Special Education teacher, Teen Leadership and AVID and English Language Arts and Professional School Counselor.
I am a wife of a First Responder and am a mother and the biggest fan of my three kids, ages: 20.16 and 15). I love to: coach baseball, play and watch sports, and I enjoy running and working out.
I’m looking forward to an amazing 24-25 year with our students, families and community members!
IMPACT COUNSELOR
The role of the Impact Counselor is to provide crisis intervention, psycho-educational counseling services and referrals to community counseling agencies when necessary. The goal of the Impact Counselor is to identify and support students who are experiencing mental health issues that are significantly impacting success in the classroom. Referrals to the Impact Counselor can be made by teachers, administrators and parents. Most often, students self-refer. Denton ISD has long recognized the relationship between academic success and emotional well-being. When students are experiencing significant life stressors, learning may not be their first priority. In response to the growing social and emotional needs experienced by our students, Denton ISD utilizes Impact Counselors on all secondary campuses.
