About Our School

  • Myers Middle School, the district’s seventh middle school, opened in the fall of 2013. It is located in the town of Shady Shores and will mark the fourth middle school campus outside of the city limits of Denton.

The school is named for Dr. Bettye Myers, a professor at Texas Woman’s University and longtime advocate for public education and the Denton community. Dr. Myers has held several leadership positions in organizations throughout the area, including a former member and president on the Denton ISD Board of Trustees.

Myers Middle School will strive to create a home away from home for parents and students, by giving them many opportunities to be involved. The school’s goal is to build an environment filled with enthusiastic leaners and leaders that are prepared for tomorrow.

The school will offer band, choir, orchestra, art, cheerleading and a variety of athletics options: football, volleyball, tennis, boys and girls basketball and boys and girls track. In addition, Myers has nationally-recognized programs like National Junior Honor Society, Student Council and numerous community-oriented clubs to help students adapt and socialize together.
