Welcome to Blanton Elementary

  • Blanton Elementary, built in 2008, is named after Annie Webb Blanton, the first woman in Texas elected to a state office. The school serves children in northern Lantana. At Blanton Elementary, our mission is to work collaboratively to ensure high levels of learning for all students while inspiring and empowering them to become safe, respectful and caring learners.

    The school motto exemplifies the outstanding learning environment of the school: building dreams, empowering minds, and strengthening our community. Blanton Elementary is where a knight's quest for knowledge begins.

District Headlines

  • The Board approved the 2019-20 School Calendar as previously presented. Under the district’s designation as a TEA District of Innovation, the calendar reflects changes that are intended to drive more effective learning and the desires of our local community.

  • At the November 13 school board meeting, plans for the new Denton High School were presented. Construction will begin in June 2019 on the new Denton High School. The campus will serve 2,400 students and is anticipated to open its doors in the Fall of 2022.
