Welcome to Strickland Middle School

  • Strickland was built in 1968 as the second middle school in Denton ISD and is known for its many traditions and legacies. The school prepares today’s learners to be tomorrow’s leaders through its strong academic programs and many extracurricular clubs, organizations and events.

    Strickland students, family and staff believe in working together to develop a solid educational foundation. Students at Strickland can enroll in gifted and talented classes, career and technology courses, and even enroll in dual-language programs that build on English and Spanish language skills.

  • The Board approved the 2019-20 School Calendar as previously presented. Under the district’s designation as a TEA District of Innovation, the calendar reflects changes that are intended to drive more effective learning and the desires of our local community.

  • Motorcycle enthusiasts and community volunteers are partnering with Denton ISD and other Denton County school districts with the seventh annual Coats for Kids Ride on Sunday, Nov. 25. This year the ride will include a drive through Texas Motor Speedway.

  • At the November 13 school board meeting, plans for the new Denton High School were presented. Construction will begin in June 2019 on the new Denton High School. The campus will serve 2,400 students and is anticipated to open its doors in the Fall of 2022.

  • Proposed Bond Projects for Strickland Middle School

    The Denton ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to call a $750.5 million bond election to be held on May 5, 2018. The bond addresses student enrollment growth, renovations to facilities, equity, infrastructure, security systems, career & technical education and extracurricular activities.
