Alexander Elementary School

Empowering Lifelong Learners

Welcome to Alexander Elementary

  • Known for being the “heart” of a diverse community, students and staff on our campus reflect a synchronicity that happens when people from different backgrounds work together toward the same common goal – the education of students. Community partners often help with events and programs at the school, while students and staff return the favor with service projects that better the neighborhood and its families.

Our campus strives daily to reflect the tone set by the life of our campus’ namesake Mrs. Alice Alexander, a local education pioneer. Mrs. Alexander’s life and that of her family members is intertwined in the history of Denton and the integration of our school system. Upon her passing in 2007 at 100 years of age, she was remembered for “furthering the cause of ethnic harmony” and “being a vivacious leader with an influence on her students.”

Denton ISD stands committed to naming our facilities after local icons who champion public education. To that end, Alexander Elementary panthers are encouraged each day to embrace the school’s motto “Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow.”
