WELCOME PANTHERS TO OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY
We are so excited to welcome you back to for a year of learning and designing! Our library is open for all learners, educators and families for reading, researching, collaborating with peers and designing new ideas. Our library staff are Autumn Segovia, our full-time library media specialist, and Marlene Faria, a full-time paraprofessional, to assist students and educators.
Learners visit the library weekly as part of their special areas time, in the mornings at 7:15am or when they come on a pass to exchange their books.
While in the library, students check out books, conduct research, participate in STEAM-related activities, explore new books by using reading skills learned in the library and work on special projects. Classes also have literacy lessons, library skills lessons, and lessons that help the students to learn about the various skills and technologies that support information access and evaluation. We are excited to bring innovative lessons that focus on STEAM concepts. STEAM is Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. By having experience with STEAM-related activities, learners are building skills in collaboration, design, creativity, and innovation.
The Alexander Elementary Library Media Center (LMC) is a fully-automated resource base for all learners and educators.
Thank you for your continuous support,
Mrs. Segovia and Ms. Faria
