• State and District Attendance Requirements

In order for your child to receive a quality education, he/she must be at school on a regular basis. When a student is not present in the classroom, that child misses valuable instruction, and this can result in large gaps in the learning process over time. Our goal is to work with families to make sure students are at school on time as much as possible.  Remember that attendance is offically taken at 9:30 a.m., so students arriving to school beyond this time will need to follow procedures for an absence.

When a child is absent, the parent has 72 hours to provide the school office with a signed note documenting the reason the child missed school. Please click on this link to access the school absence note https://forms.dentonisd.org/Forms/absence-note and upload any required documentation.

Please visit the Denton ISD attendance website for acceptable reasons for excused absences and other important information. The "Top Ten Tips" form also has helpful guidelines for parents (also available in Spanish). Additional information can be found in our parent handbook, including a list of reasons for which we can excuse absences.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's attendance, please call the Stephens office at (940) 369-0800. We look forward to working with you toward the common goal of your child's success at school.

    Thank you,
