Transcripts~
Each student has an academic achievement record with grades, graduation credits, class rank and standardized test scores recorded from the beginning of the freshman year. This record, a transcript, is required for admission by most secondary and post-secondary institutions as well as many scholarship applications and places of employment. Because transcripts are an official record, they are governed under state and federal laws. Here is the process to request your transcript:Current Students~Transcripts will be issued after the student completes their request electronically through Schoolinks on the student's SSO. Students have been given instructions on using Schoolinks. The presentation is located on the counselor webpage under classroom presentations and on their Senior English IV teacher's Canvas. Official transcripts will be sent to post-secondary institutions electronically using a secure exchange system when possible. Unofficial transcripts can be downloaded through Schoolinks. Each official transcript that cannot be sent electronically will cost $1.00 and must be paid before processing begins. Please note that transcript requests will be processed within five school days of the registrar receiving the transcript request in Schoolinks and the fee collected.Former Students~Transcripts will be issued after the student submits their written request, copy of valid photo ID, and fee, either in person or by mail, to Denton High School. Click here for a request form. Official transcripts will be sent to post-secondary institutions electronically when available or mailed directly. We are unable to email transcripts. Each transcript will cost $2.00. Please note that transcript requests will be processed within five school days of the registrar receiving the transcript request and the fee.
Student Records~In the normal course of business, Denton ISD collects records on all students. These include, but are not limited to, immunizations, copies of birth certificate, attendance records, and enrollment records. These records are only maintained while the students are enrolled in Denton ISD. All records are maintained and then shredded in accordance with the retention schedule set forth by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. While the retention period varies by record, ALL records, except transcripts, are destroyed after the student leaves the district. Students and parents can request copies of their records by completing the Records Request Form. Due to the nature of these records, it may take up to ten business days to process this request.Universities, Schools and Businesses please email tlau@dentonisd.org or fax your request to 940.369.4954 for any records request or verifications.
