District Announces Class of 2013 High School Valedictorians, Salutatorians

Denton Independent School District officials from Denton High, Guyer High and Ryan High have announced the top graduates for the Class of 2013. These students will be recognized along with their classmates during commencement exercises for all three high schools Friday, June 7, at the University of North Texas’ Coliseum.

Middle Schoolers Motivate Community to Donate Toward Relief Efforts in Moore, OK

Students and staff at Crownover Middle School collected and donated a truckload of clothing, toiletries, supplies and food for residents of Moore, Oklahoma who were recently affected by a tornado and additional severe weather.

High Schoolers Earn Top Ratings at UIL Band Solo and Ensemble Contest

Denton Independent School District high school band students recently competed at a UIL solo and ensemble contest at Guyer High School in preperation to compete for spots at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest at the University of Texas at Austin.

McKinney HS Assistant Principal Named New Crownover Middle School Principal

Jason Rainey, currently house principal at McKinney High School, has been named principal of Crownover Middle School for the 2013-14 school year. He is replacing Gwen Perkins, who was recently named director of professional personnel for Denton ISD.
