    As a result of two inclement weather days that resulted in the cancelation of classes in February, Denton Independent School District will have school on April 3 and 6. Both days were scheduled as inclement weather makeup days when the 2014-15 district calendar was approved prior to the start of the school year.

  • Denton students help test 3D pen prior to consumer version

    Students at Denton High School have been testing a new 3D pen, and soon their hard work will likely result in a product for consumers. Students have been providing feedback about the 3DFormer pen, which is now on Kickstarter for a commercial release.

  • Student-led Alzheimer’s benefit concert set for April 4

    Denton High School sophomore Sophia Lin has organized an Alzheimer’s benefit concert at her school, with a special appearance by the reigning Miss Tarrant County, a Denton area native, in an effort to raise funds and awareness to combat the disease.

  • Denton High hosting Orchestra String Fling on April 7

    Denton High School will host its annual Orchestra String Fling at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, giving attendees a glimpse at about a dozen award-winning student orchestra groups. The event showcases orchestras for Denton High and its feeder elementary and middle schools.

  • Parent and educator disability information event set for April 11

    The Denton ISD Department of Special Education will host its annual Parent and Educator Disability Information/Resource Event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, at the Advanced Technology Complex, 1504 Long Road.

  • Head Start Roundup to take place April 13-17

    Denton ISD’s annual Head Start Roundup, aimed at determining if young students are eligible for the preschool program, will take place April 13-17 at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex. The event helps families determine if their children meet the qualifications for the program and also serves to recruit and enroll students.

  • Braswell High School: Construction on Denton ISD's fourth comprehensive high school is currently underway in the eastern portion of the district. Dr. Ray Braswell High School will be located on the southeast corner of Navo Road and U.S. Highway 380 and is scheduled to open in time for the 2016-17 school year.
