Successful, vibrant communities cultivate businesses and industries that value public education. Denton ISD’s Adopt-a-School has long prided itself on building relationships with the businesses and organizations within our 17 different communities for one common goal: preparing our students for the future.
We believe that the best way to accomplish this mission is by engaging the members of our community in unique ways that allow them to support, encourage and inspire learning. Our Adopt-A-School program fosters a bond between our public schools and businesses, organizations and other local entities. These community members can help Denton ISD as a whole by becoming district partners or specific schools by becoming campus adopters.
Denton ISD Adopt-a-School program has created such strong bonds between businesses and campuses that students’ families, our staff and the community at large have taken notice and wanted to get involved. Recently, a team of school and community leaders traveled to the Texas Association of School Boards: Business-Education Forum in Austin to share “The Denton ISD Example.” As one of only four districts selected to present at the state level, our program is a model for public engagement.
