In December 2023 and January 2024, the Denton ISD Board of School Trustees approved new attendance boundaries to address the growth of the Denton and Braswell High School attendance zones, as well as the opening of Dorothy Martinez Elementary School. These boundaries were approved based on feedback the district received from families on what is most important to them at the school their child attends.
These new, approved boundaries – which can be viewed on the map to the right – will be effective for the 2024-2025 school year. Hill Elementary, which is currently under construction in the Braswell High School attendance zone, is scheduled to open in August 2025.
All families being rezoned will have the opportunity to request to remain on their current campus. Families who are being rezoned were sent a letter with a link that allows your family to request to remain at your current school. Please note: this survey will serve as your transfer application and must be submitted by Feb. 9, 2024.
District guidelines for transfer will be in effect for families requesting to stay at their current campus. In subsequent years, if younger siblings wish to remain within the zone, a transfer application may be completed. Rezoning transfers will be approved and are subject to Denton ISD’s transfer guidelines.
