-
Amy Bundgus, Trustee since 2022
As an advocate for public education with a love of learning, Amy Bundgus joined the Board of Trustees in 2022 combining her support for families and desire to serve our community. Her roots growing up in a rural community in the Midwest instilled a strong work ethic and a dedication to her community and family values.
Ms. Bundgus has served for a number of years as Vice President of Product Management, Learning & Leadership Development in the private sector of banking and finance, managing an online learning platform that supports worldwide learners, both externally for customers and internally for the organization’s more than 220 thousand+ employees.
During two decades of service with one of the largest banks in the country, she has taken the lead in the organization’s commitment to learning initiatives for its employees. Her intense focus on the learning management system supports millions of elements of learning content. She directly manages all aspects of this learning platform, in partnership with legal, risk, compliance, brand, marketing, technology and other areas of the bank. Her current focus centers on skill-based learning and skill development, which requires thorough knowledge and understanding of the skills that will be required to be employable in our ever-growing and changing global economy.
Throughout her extensive corporate career, Ms. Bundgus has a proven track record as a performance-driven leader. In addition to managing an employee education-based business unit, Ms. Bundgus supported and consulted on career path functionality for the enterprise, Global Technology University learning, and supports a manager development program across all platforms. She also led learning opportunities for internship programs worldwide, and international learning benefits programs for children during the Covid pandemic.
Ms. Bundgus’ track record for driving and developing innovative learning solutions to establish business value and achieve results globally translates directly to her efforts as a trustee for our local school district. Her unique ability to bring complex learning solutions to the corporate environment makes a seamless transition to the world of public education.
Ms. Bundgus attended Drake University and earned a degree in Political Science with minors in Economics and Sociology. Her interest in public service began when she interned for State Senator Gene Maddox in the Iowa State Legislature after college.
The proud mother of a blended family with seven children, Ms. Bundgus grew up on a farm in Minnesota and has lived all over the Midwest, but she has called Texas her home for 20 years. She and her husband served as “Blended Family” ministry directors for several years at Rockpointe Church in Flower Mound. Two of Ms. Bundgus’ children attended Denton ISD schools from elementary through their graduation from Guyer High School. Mrs. Bundgus believes that the Denton ISD families and community members can form a strong partnership with the district, and she strives to be a voice for the community on the Board.
