Denton ISD works with several local entities to plan how to accommodate its growing student population.
Regarding transportation, for instance, Denton ISD works in an advisory role on the city of Denton's bicycle committee. District representatives have provided input on the location of bicycle lanes throughout the city that offer connectivity to our schools. The city similarly helps the district by offering feedback on traffic flow around schools, where the police enforce school speed zones.
While the district actively works with local government entities, it also closely monitors its student population on its own. Denton ISD contracts a demographics monitoring firm to stay abreast of areas that are projected to grow at fast rates, helping it determine where future schools will be located.
