Coats for Kids Ride Set to Collect Winter Coats for Area Students
Motorcycle enthusiasts and community volunteers are partnering with Denton ISD and other Denton County school districts for the 13th annual Coats for Kids Ride on Saturday, Nov. 25.
The ride begins at 11 a.m. at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex, 1500 Long Road, Denton, TX, 76207. The ride ends at American Eagle Harley-Davidson, 5920 South I-35E, Corinth, TX, 76210. To register for the ride, visit www.coatsforkidsride.com.
Participants should bring one new coat with the tags still on for students in sizes that will fit kids who are from 12 months to adult 4XL. This year, the group is focusing on coats for larger students, specifically “hoodies” for high school-aged students.
Participants can also purchase a coat for $25 at registration from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
This is the 13th year of the ride, and more than 26,000 coats have been donated to kids in Denton County through this single event which began in 2011. The group estimates that thousands of families in Denton County cannot afford to send their student to school wearing a coat this winter, making this event beneficial to those who are most in need.
