Jason Foutch Selected as Director of Safety and Security

Denton ISD has selected Jason Foutch as the district’s Director of Safety and Security. Mr. Foutch replaces Mary Martin, who recently left the district.

A veteran in law enforcement and a graduate of Denton High School, Mr. Foutch brings 30 years of experience to his role with the district. Mr. Foutch has most recently served as a School Safety and Security (SSO) Officer with Denton ISD since 2024, as well as a reserve police officer with the Ponder Police Department since 2019.

“I am honored and humbled to have the chance to serve Denton ISD as the Director of Safety and Security,” Mr. Foutch said. “As a lifelong Denton resident and former Newton Rayzor Elementary, Strickland Middle School and Denton High student, this opportunity means the world to me.”

Mr. Foutch began his career in law enforcement as a reserve police officer with the Aubrey Police Department in 1995. Over the next seven years, he served in a variety of capacities primarily with the Corinth Police Department, spending three years as a patrol officer before rising to the rank of Corporal in 2000.

From 2000-2002, Mr. Foutch served in the field operations and warrants divisions.

In 2002, Mr. Foutch assumed a new role with the Corinth Police Department as an Investigator – a position he held for more than a decade until 2015. He served for two years in the field operations and support division until becoming a Special Investigator with the Department of Family and Protective Services in 2017.

Mr. Foutch was a recipient of the Commissioner’s Award of Excellence in 2018, and in 2021, became the Special Investigator Program Director for the Department of Family and Protective Services. In this role, Mr. Foutch supervised nine special investigators assigned to multiple counties.

For his work, Mr. Foutch was awarded the 2022 Region 3 East Supervisor of the Year.

As Denton ISD’s Director of Safety and Security, Mr. Foutch will be responsible for the supervision of all School Security and Resource Officers. In addition, he will also establish and administer security regulations and procedures to protect students, staff and property.

“Mr. Foutch is a highly decorated law enforcement professional with an extensive knowledge of our community,” said Dr. Jeff Russell, Area Superintendent. “His connection to our district and tremendous experience will be an incredible addition to Denton ISD.”
