Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes. You may apply for any positions that you feel qualified.

Can I change my email address on my application?
Yes. Once logged in to your account, on the main page underneath your profile picture, there is an “Edit E-Mail” button. Once you have changed your email address, you will use your new email address to log-in to AppHQ.

Do I have to complete a different application for each position that I want to apply for?
Denton ISD only has one application for all positions. But you will need to choose to apply for each position individually. If there are additional application pages required for specific job postings, you will be prompted to complete them.

Do I need to upload a resume?
Yes, we highly suggest that you provide an up-to-date resume.

Does Denton ISD accept paper applications?
Denton ISD no longer accepts paper application. All resumes, letters of recommendation and transcripts must be attached to your online application.

I am interested in a (specific position). However, the job posting does not specify the Campus/Department for this position. How do I know which Campus/Department I am applying for?
Some job postings are utilized to fill the same position in multiple Campuses/Departments. If a Campus/Department is not listed, and you are contacted to schedule an interview, the Campus/Department will be provided at that time.

I completed and submitted my online application. How do I know that you received it?
Once you have completed the required pages of the application, the job posting you are applying for will move from the “Incomplete Jobs” table to the “Complete Jobs” table in your “My Jobs” tab.

My password is not working. What do I do?
If your password is not working, please click the “Forgot Password” link. The system will email you a temporary password and instructions on how to change your password.

What is the status of my application?
Once you have completed the required pages of the application, the job posting you are applying for will move from the “Incomplete Jobs” table to the “Complete Jobs” table.

When does Denton ISD accept applications?
Denton ISD accepts applications year-round. Be sure to review the open job(s) frequently and apply to the job(s) in which you meet the requirements.

Who do I contact if I am interested in a position and have completed my application?
Once your application has been completed, the district administrators will have access to your application and will make decisions regarding potential interviews and employment opportunities.

New Hire FAQ's

When will I attend my New Hire Orientation?
You will attend your New Hire Orientation after you have been through the following steps:
- Campus/Department submits Recommendation to Hire
- Education, Certification and License Check is completed (if applicable)
- Fingerprint/Background Check is completed
- An official job offer is extended to the new hire from an HR Administrator
- An HR official will then contact the new hire with additional information regarding a New Employee Orientation
You will receive a link to your email address that was submitted on your application with instructions on how to schedule your new hire orientation.

When can I begin working?
You may start working once you have completed the New Hire Orientation with the Denton ISD Human Resources Department.
There are a number of steps that must be completed including the background check, certification check, official job offer, new hire paperwork, and new hire orientation.

How do I know where I am at in the hiring process?
Email is the primary method of communication during the hiring process. Check the email address that you listed on your application frequently to ensure that you receive direct communication from Denton ISD Human Resources.
Certification FAQ's

Do I need to be certified in Texas before I can apply for a teaching position in your district?
In order to apply for a teaching position, you must either be certified, degreed and looking into an alternative program or certified in another state. There are fields on the application where you can show that you are currently enrolled in an alternative certification program. Information regarding How to Become a Teacher in Texas, can be found at the TEA (Texas Education Agency) website at http://tea.texas.gov/Texas_Educators/Certification/Certification/

Credentials FAQ's

Can I mail my credentials if I do not have access to a scanning machine?
Our goal is to maintain a paperless application process. The Human Resources Department will contact you if any additional information is required.

If I am not able to upload my information into the system, may I mail copies of my resume, letters of recommendation and transcripts?
Unfortunately, all resumes, letters of recommendation and transcripts must be attached to your online application. Campus/Department administrators have access to your information and may download your online application along with your credentials.

Does Denton ISD host job fairs?
Denton ISD does not host job fairs. However, Denton ISD does attend education job fairs for teaching positions at universities.

How do I find salary information for a job which I am applying for?
Salary information is listed toward the bottom of the job posting. If no salary information is included, you may reference the appropriate compensations plan on our website at www.dentonisd.org, click the “Employment Tab” and then click “Compensation Plan” located on the left side of the screen.

I was offered the position by an administrator, what is the next step?
Once you have been officially recommended for hire, you will receive electronic confirmation via email. Human Resources will process your form and contact you with further information regarding the hiring process. Please note, during peak hiring season, this process could take longer than expected.

What is RIVS?
RIVS is an online digital video interview that is sometimes utilized during the application process. If you are required to complete a RIVS interview, you will be contacted via email. This step does not guarantee you a face to face interview. Interviews are contingent upon vacancies and need.
