Meet Our Trustees: Lori Tays

  • Lori Tays, Trustee since 2023

    Lori Tays

Lori Tays is a passionate advocate for students, teachers and public education. A mother of two Denton ISD children, Ms. Tays has been actively involved in the district as a PTA member since her oldest child started kindergarten.

Born and raised locally in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, Ms. Tays recognized at an early age the need to help others, leading to her decision to work in emergency medicine. She received her bachelor’s of science in nursing from Western Governors University.

Over the past 17 years, Ms. Tays has served a number of DFW communities as an EMT and nurse, working in Level 1 trauma centers, county facilities and community hospitals.

In 2017, Ms. Tays had a calling to move into pediatric emergency medicine and began working with Children’s Health. She quickly fell in love with both pediatric medicine and her facility’s mission statement: Make Life Better for Children.

Ms. Tays has lived in Denton County for the past nine years. In addition to her work with Denton ISD’s PTA, she also volunteers as a troop leader with a local Girl Scouts troop.
