    Tanya Wright

    Tanya Wright is an active Denton ISD community leader with a passion for elevating family engagement, communication, and ensuring equity in programming and resources across all campuses.

    The mother of three Denton ISD children, Ms. Wright has served on a wide range of district and campus-level committees, including the 2023 Citizen’s Advisory Committee, 1925 Committee, Legislative Watch Committee, School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) and multiple PTA boards. Since 2019, Ms. Wright has served on PTA boards across the district, where she has held roles of local President, Treasurer, Vice President of Programs, Vice President of Membership, Council Vice President of Advocacy and Council Treasurer.

    Professionally, Ms. Wright is the Vice President of Operations for a national mortgage company, with over a decade of experience in compliance, policy and strategy. She received her bachelor’s degree in child learning and development from the University of Texas at Dallas, and she later received her master’s degree in child development from Texas Woman’s University. In addition, Ms. Wright also holds teaching certifications in special education, English as a Second Language (ESL) and Early Childhood-6th grade.

    Ms. Wright, her husband, Josh and three children have called the Braswell High School Zone home since 2019. She is deeply committed to advocating for responsible growth, supporting teachers and staff, and prioritizing student safety and well-being. Ms. Wright believes in transparent governance and is honored to represent the families and students of Denton ISD.
