COVID-19 Protocols

  • Denton ISD is in constant communication with Denton County Health Services (DCHS) who monitor the health status and that of Denton County residents, daily. Based on the latest recommendations, please see the COVID-19 school decision tree.

If COVID-19 or other infectious diseases become prevalent in our community, the district will partner with DCHS, operating under their guidance, and adjust our protocols. Find the latest public health guidance from the Texas Education Agency.

If you have traveled recently, please refer to the CDC travel guidelines.

If you are an employee who has recently tested positive for COVID-19, please notify your supervisor and refer to the Denton County Decision Tree

The government has launched a website that offers free at-home COVID tests to the public. Visit Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests for more information.

Best Practices

  • Parents and staff are expected to continue to screen themselves and their children for COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming to work/school each day.  In addition, please adopt the following healthy practices.

    • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.
    • Cover coughs and sneezes.
    • Stay home if sick, especially if there is a fever.
    • If unvaccinated and exposed to COVID-19, please refer to the COVID-19 Decision tree.
  •

Denton ISD will continue to stay in touch with our local health department to monitor the health status in the community.  If COVID-19 numbers increase in our community, under the guidance of Denton County Health Services, we will adjust our protocols.
