Denton ISD Increases Performance in 2025 Accountability Ratings
Denton ISD has earned an overall B rating in the Texas Education Agency’s 2025 A–F Accountability Ratings, marking a significant step forward from last year’s C rating. The improvement reflects the district’s continued focus on student success and the dedicated efforts of its teachers, staff, and community.
This year, 22 Denton ISD campuses received either an A or B rating, up from 13 the previous year. Additionally, 72 percent of the district’s campuses demonstrated overall growth in performance. These results highlight measurable progress across the district while underscoring the ongoing work to elevate outcomes for all students.
“This year’s results are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and strong sense of purpose of our teachers, campus leaders, and staff,” said Dr. Susannah Holbert O’Bara, Superintendent of Schools. “Moving from a C to a B rating reflects the progress we’ve made together as a school community, but it’s just the beginning. We remain committed to ensuring every student has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to reach their highest potential.”
District leaders credit targeted academic supports, increased collaboration among campuses, and strategic resource alignment as key drivers of improvement.
“These gains didn’t happen by chance,” said Dr. Lacey Rainey, Assistant Superintendent of School Leadership & Academic Programs. “They are the result of intentional planning, data-driven decision-making, and a deep belief in our students’ ability to succeed. While we celebrate this progress, we are equally focused on sustaining and building upon it in the years ahead.”
Denton ISD leaders emphasize that continued success will rely on the collective efforts of the entire community—students, families, staff, and partners—working together toward shared goals. The district invites everyone to remain engaged and connected as it builds on this momentum for the benefit of all learners.
