Interested in volunteering or mentoring this year?We have opportunities for parents and community members to mentor on a weekly basis, working one-on-one with a child, as well as volunteering on a regular basis or for one-time events. Volunteer opportunities could include attending field trips, assisting in classrooms, helping in the lunchroom, working with student clubs and organizations, and helping with STEM or Reading Nights, Fall Festivals, and Field Days. All volunteers are required to submit a background check application each year. Instructions and a link to the application, which includes a background check, can be found on the volunteer application page. Please allow at least 1 week before volunteering for the district to process your application. We are incredibly grateful for our parent and community volunteers, and our schools wouldn't be the same without you! Thank you for giving your time and your hearts to give our children the best possible school experience. No matter how often you can volunteer, we will find a way to get you involved!
Denton ISD's volunteer program is sponsored by DATCU, which has helped support volunteer initiatives in the district for more than a decade. DATCU has strong ties to Denton ISD, as the credit union's name previously served as an abbreviation for Denton Area Teachers Credit Union and was originally created for area teachers.Through DATCU's support, Denton ISD's volunteer program is among the best in the nation, as it now amasses hundreds of thousands of hours dedicated to its initiatives by volunteers each year. DATCU representatives also serve as a guiding influence for the program, assisting with meetings, events, and other volunteer actions every school year.
