• All Graduating Seniors/Class of 2023 --

The application for more than 125 scholarships thru the Denton Public School Foundation is now available.  Please read the instructions before submitting the single application for these scholarships.

The 2022-2023 scholarship application will be open from Wednesday, November 16, 2022 - Friday, January 20, 2023, at 5:00 pm.  For any questions, please email Jenifer Fuller at dpsf@dentonisd.org

We are excited to continue our partnership with Kaleidoscope for our scholarship application. What does this mean? First, it means that you will not have to complete your application in one sitting. You can start it, stop it, think about it and come back to complete it in more than one session.  Second, it means that when you complete your application, you will be able to see other scholarships that are hosted by Kaleidoscope and possibly apply for those as well.

To be eligible for scholarship consideration, you must:

    • Meet DISD Enrollment. Applicant must be a Denton ISD Senior* with plans to begin a college/ university/ technical or vocational school/ union apprenticeship program in the summer or fall of 2022 or spring of 2023. Scholarships not claimed by March of 2024 will no longer be available.

    • Complete and submit the online scholarship application.

    • Comply with Application Deadline: All applications must be submitted by January 20, 2023, no later than 5:00 pm.

*Seniors at LaGrone Academy - whose home district is not Denton ISD - are not eligible to apply for the Denton Public School Foundation scholarships. They should reach out to their home district for local opportunities.

    Helpful Hints:

Unless specifically asked, do not use any information that would identify yourself (name, etc.) or the school you attend (school name, mascot, clubs, etc.) Example: say Drill Team and not Silverados, Fillies, Strutters or Royals, etc

SPELL CHECK! SPELL CHECK! GRAMMAR CHECK! SPELL CHECK! - Presentation matters, and this is how you are presenting yourself to our reviewers.

When you register, please use an email that you will check after graduation and not your "studentID#@g.dentonisd.org" email. Often, we need to contact our award winners during the summer about claiming their scholarship, and we can not do that with a DISD email address after graduation. If you do not have another email address, there are several free services you can use to set one up, and there are links to do this in the application.

We have to say it again. CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR!

Part of the application will be forwarding your application to your counselor so they can record your GPA, Test Scores (if applicable) and whether or not you are in the top 10%, which we use to determine eligibility for certain scholarships.

MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE NAME AND EMAIL THAT WE HAVE LISTED FOR EACH SCHOOL IN THE FIELDS OF THE RECOMMENDATION SECTION, OR THE COUNSELOR WILL NOT GET YOUR APPLICATION!

    DO NOT PUT YOUR INFORMATION!

Your application will say that it is 99% complete until they finish entering the information that we have requested from them.

    IMPORTANT:

All applicants will be notified in April, through EMAIL, whether or not they were awarded a scholarship.

Applications submitted after 5:00 pm on January 20, 2023, will not be accepted. Technical difficulties will receive no special consideration.
