What to Do During a School Emergency
In an emergency, our district and campus leadership will contact families immediately via email or text. Our campus/district leaders will provide the most up-to-date and accurate information as soon as the situation allows.
Parents/guardians are urged to stay home and await instructions from the campus/district any time Standard Response Protocols (SRPs) are enacted. SRPs are protective measures that include a Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate or Shelter and are utilized to ensure the safety and security of students, staff and the community.
During a “Lockdown” or “Secure,” traffic routes around the school must remain clear to allow for the arrival of first responders. “Secure” means the threat is on the outside of the facility.
Law enforcement may be in the area or nearby district property investigating an incident in the community. This investigation could be unrelated to the district/campus. In addition, no one is allowed in or out of a Denton ISD facility during a “Lockdown” or “Secure.”
Please note that posting or sharing information on social media may create and add to the crisis.
Home Access Center (HAC)
We ask that instead of going to the school, you rely on district emergency resources for information.
To ensure you are receiving notifications and emergency communications from your campus and Denton ISD, please ensure your contact information is correct and up-to-date in the Home Access Center.
Parents can edit their contact information in their HAC account by clicking on the Registration tab and then the ‘Edit’ button. You can also contact the campus registrar to make a change to your contact information or if you need access to your HAC account.
