Enrollment Process
The Virginia Gallian Child Development Center was developed to meet the needs of Denton ISD employees.
The Center enrolls children ages six weeks to five years.
Enrollment Priority
Center enrollment priority is given in the following manner:
- Currently enrolled families
- Children or legal dependents of Denton ISD employees
- Grandchildren of Denton ISD employees
- Children of Denton ISD substitutes
- Children or legal dependents of the following community partners: City of Denton, County of Denton, UNT, TWU and NCTC
At this time, only full-time enrollment is accepted.
The center is not available to the general public.
Enrollment Process
Once the decision to enroll is made, families must complete the following prior to the child's first day of attendance:
- Pay annual registration/supply fees Pay Fees
- Complete and sign enrollment paperwork in its entirety (Available at the center.)
- Provide a current immunization record & Health Assessment with a physician's signature
Parents must also participate in a Center tour and program orientation, review the Parent Handbook and meet the teacher before the enrollment process is complete.

Waiting List Policy
The Virginia Gallian Child Development Center maintains a wait list for families seeking to enroll in our program. It is best to sign up on the list as soon as you know you will need care.
The purpose of the Waiting List Policy is to ensure a fair process is followed and communicated to all involved.
Upon receipt of an online Waiting List Application and the waiting list fee, Gallian Center management files the application on the waiting list. To help us keep the waiting list up to date, we request a $25.00 waiting list fee. The application date is effective on the date we receive the fee. The application fee is non-refundable. However, it will be applied to the Enrollment Fee upon registration.The center provides no guarantee of entry when placing you on the wait list.
The waitlist list is organized using the following information:- Registration date
- Space Required date
- Age group
- Priority group
- Currently enrolled families
- Children or legal dependents of Denton ISD employees
- Grandchildren of Denton ISD employees
- Children of Denton ISD substitutes
- Children or legal dependents of the following community partners: City of Denton, County of Denton, UNT, TWU and NCTC
Please check in with us about two months prior to the date you've indicated you want space. When a space becomes available within the Gallian Center, the administrative team assigns the space to the first child on the waiting list.
Waiting Times
It is impossible for us to predict how quickly our waiting list will progress. Therefore, we can NOT give an approximate entry date. The waiting time is affected by the number of spaces available and the time of year. Many people submit their waiting list applications when they first conceive. Applications are not accepted prior to conception.
A Space Becomes Available
When a space is available, we will call you and e-mail you. Every effort will be made to contact you. Telephone or email notification must be returned within 5 business days, after which we will contact the next family on the list. Parents who decline a space or do not return notification within 5 business days will drop to the bottom of the list. You will not need to repay the waiting list fee. If the offered space (required date or days) does not meet your criteria and you subsequently decline, you will remain on the waitlist list as is.
Parents who accept an available space offered to them shall be liable for all payments for the space from the date it is reserved for your child, regardless of whether or not this is the date on which the child actually begins attending VGCDC. We will offer parents a space up-to 6 months ahead of the requested date. -
Tuition & Fees
- Infants: $278
- Toddlers: $255
- Two year old: $242
- Three year old: $225
- Four year old $222
Ages are approximate: Children are placed in rooms based on their age, developmental level, and space availability.
Tuition is charged weekly, and must be paid in advance of services being provided.
Virginia Gallian Child Development Center charges for actual days of operation. Tuition is not charged for Denton ISD school holidays/closures. Gallian Center does not require payment for a total of 14 weeks per year. Using an average of our tuition at $175.75 per week, this calculates into a savings of $2,460.50 per year. Other centers may offer 2 weeks per year tuition free. Please consider this when comparing our tuition with other centers.
Payments
Payroll Deduction
The center offers payroll deductions for Denton ISD employees. The payroll deduction amount is prorated based on the number of days remaining in the academic year and the number of paychecks the employee should receive through May. Tuition deduction begins on the first paycheck after enrollment begins and the paperwork has been turned in completely, any tuition prior to that date must be paid online, unless other arrangements have been made and are agreed upon in writing. Payroll deduction paperwork must be completed by the 7th of the month for it to be applied to that month's check. Payroll deduction is the same each period as the dates the center is closed are included in the calculation.Online Payment
Gallian Center parents may pay online by going to the link below. The center no longer accepts payment via cash or check at the center. If paying a fee such as registration or waitlist, please contact the center at 940-369-3980 to attain the payment code.
Fees
- Registration Fee (non-refundable): $60 per child annually. Due with initial enrollment and then annually with each renewal.
- Supply Fee (non-refundable): $65. Due prior to beginning care each fall
- Late Tuition Fee: Tuition is due by Monday and is late by the end of the day on Tuesday. If payment has not been made at that time, a $30 late fee will be charged.
