    Paul Andress has served as Denton Independent School District’s Executive Director of Maintenance and Operations since 2012, overseeing all maintenance and operational functions of schools, facilities and other structures.

    Mr. Andress also oversees the custodial work, planning, safety and transportation for the district in his role as head of operations. His oversight of roughly 675 employees provides the workforce management necessary to maintain more than six million square feet of building space and over 900 acres of property.

    Mr. Andress also oversees all support buildings staffed by Denton ISD personnel. In this role, all maintenance requests, facility improvements, and equipment management (including school buses, service trucks, tractors, mowers, forklifts and trailers) flow through his department.

    Under Mr. Andress’ guidance, Denton ISD has opened one new high school, two middle schools and four elementary schools. Mr. Andress supports the work done by third-party contractors while monitoring timelines to ensure projects are progressing efficiently.

    Mr. Andress has spent more than 24 years at Denton ISD, beginning as a supervisor of maintenance in 1995 before advancing to director of operations in 1997. Prior to this position, Mr. Andress spent more than ten years in the professional industry, serving in roles such as a warehouse manager for Leatherwood Plastics, manufacturing coordinator for Texas Instruments, construction estimator for Commercial Interstate and several subcontractors for GTE & Verizon.
